Extremely strict with high expectations. Ms Brooke's style is not for everyone, but it worked for me and I put more effort into Latin than I did any other subject. Helpful if you adapt to her style, not helpful if you're a rebel, but mind you she postponed her long service leave so that she could see my friends and I through to year 12 Latin. However you feel about Ms Brooke, you cannot mistake her knowledge of/passion for the subject.
tips for if you are in her class 1. DO NOT ASK ANY QUESTIONS YOU WILL REGRET IT 2.MAKE SURE YOUR MUSIC LESSON IS NOT IN THE MIDDLE OF LATIN 3.KNOW EVERYTHING IN LATINS BEFORE YOU EVEN START LATIN 4.NO TALKING, NO LAUGHING AND NO SUSPISIOUS SMILEING
She's a nice teacher, but she's quite strict, but it's for your own good.
She's just not a good teacher. Her methods are outdated. I didn't care that she was strict and unfriendly. She's just unhelpful. You won't know what I mean until you see the standard at other schools.
You girls who think she's a devil don't realise she's just got really high standards and wants you doing the best you can. Sure, she's strict and often quite grumpy, but she can be really nice xD.
mrs. brooke is a very misunderstood figure. yes she may be strict with her students and sometime very unreasonable. but those who withstand the strictness will come out as great students.
She has helped me tremendously with my latin :) yes she's strict but I'd rather a teacher with high standards. Yells at everybody heaps but I don't think she hates her students...it's 'tough love'...
she expects everyone to know everything already, even what shes about to teach us, and if you ask a question it's the end of the world.
grr!! shes horrible. she will yell if you dont get something in her class and favours those that do well so much. Shes not very good at explaining and makes you feel so uncomfortable in class.
