Very good teacher. I currently have him in year 9, and although he sometimes gets angry with the students, he is very engaging and clear in what he is teaching. Sometimes, however, he will give us Assessments without giving us any heads up.

Had him for Year 9 math, first year at MHS. Did not enjoy the experience. Very distractable, unable to stay focused on the class sometimes. Spent an entire class once talking exclusively about his country house and another talking about his 4 by 4 Adventure. Did not enjoy his class at all. Pray for all those who had to go through a year with him.

Undoubtedly Mr Keyte is a very intelligent man. This is irrefutable. Unlike many others though, I find his teaching skills to be impeccable. It is joyous to have him for a double maths lesson. He really motivates his students to succeed in the wonderous subject that Maths is.

When you thought the old boys dropped physics as a 'joke'. When you thought the meme where he lost the sacs was a 'joke'. When people say he can't teach. Sorry to inform you but not only can he not teach, he often does not even come to class or comes late to class (61 days of absence this year so far). I assume he was a good teacher in his earlier years, but now all he does is read off notes quote "I don't remember when I wrote them" from a lifetime ago. He also is very confusing and boring.

I have no doubts that he is indeed quite knowledgeable in his field, but its only a matter of his actual teaching. Too many tangents in class, talking about his 4wd, his farm etc. its 4 weeks until exams and my entire class has no idea what we are doing. I dont even know what i dont know. He might be better off as a guest speaker than a teacher

Apart from the very poor reviews I have heard from past and present students have tried to meet up with this teacher many times but never could. Never responds to emails and hard to meet at parent/teacher interviews. God help those kids!

Some students found that this is the worst maths teacher they ever had. Melbourne High Students are generally very good in maths this teacher seems to make maths unattractive for the students instead of helping them to best in the country.
It seems like he does not teach much and asking the students to refer to text books. Students seem to complain about his delay to his class and sleeping in the class. He takes the advantage of smart kids in Melbourne High being slack. Not a good experince.

Probably the worst teacher at MHS. Close to never marks the tests, always asks students to mark tests for him. Also gets angry at students for no reason. His homework load is too much, as he gave us 5 exercises to do within one night. Really lazy teacher.

Can be difficult to deal with for students who don't pay attention but personally was a great teacher for VCE physics.

A brilliant physicist, and also the worst teacher of all time. Run while you can.

Absolutely terrible. If you get him for any subject, don't expect to learn anything. Ask any student at MHS and he will tell you that he is the worst. He does know a moderate amount in maths but his teaching methods are terrible and he doesn't help at all. Seems to only care about his 4WD. Don't know why he still teaches.

He knows a decent amount of his stuff for math but unfortunately he doesn't know how to teach it. He takes an extremely long time to realise your hand is up. When i asked him for help on how much a hectare was he told me to go look it up... He also loves rambling on about his adventures and that is an extreme waste of time.

Mr Keyte doesn't seem to know much about his subjects, and the little that he does know he struggles to impart to his students. He doesn't teach you at ALL. When I told him I didn't understand what he was attempting to teach he said to meet him in his office and then didn't turn up. After 6 months he STILL doesn't even know what class we are. Basically I would recommend changing classes if you unluckily end up with him. If you don't you will probably end up failing the subject miserably.

Mr Keyte is one of the awesomest Maths teachers I've ever had. Though his explanations may sometimes be a little bit confusing, they are very helpful anyways.

Mr. Keyte is an awesome Physics teacher. He is only getting bad results because the people above me are duds and blame their poor Physics score on an innocent teacher.

I had him many, many years ago and he was pretty bad then, too. Neither competent nor approachable. Mind you, he didn't much like me either - my final mark was more than twice the mark I got from him.

Hmm. I haven't had him as a teacher, but when I did meet him (while having difficulties in subjects, namely with actually doing work), he was very helpful and supportive, contrary to other ratings...
