Honestly, my all time favourite teacher! I had Mr Harman for year 10 and 11 English and I went from a C- to and A. He teaches in a way that allows you to reach your full potential and is so clear on every piece of assessment. He has fun in class putting students on the spot, which is why some don't like him and find him scary, but it is ultimately how I learnt to do my work. Now in year 12, with a different teacher, I realise that he made it so easy to understand and look forward to English.
Mr Harman is a pretty strict teacher, but he definitely knows what hes doing and he is without a doubt the best english teacher i know of, really knowledgeable and good at teaching. 10/10
When I think back to who was my most influential teacher, I will always think of Mr Harmen. Although not for everyone, he spoke my language and can guarantee that if you're willing to listen, you will learn. The structure of his classes cleared everything up for me regarding the basics of English which I've used as tools to go out and use in my heavily-cultural career. He's intimidating but if you do your work and joke back with clever wit you will get along with him just fine.
Mr Harman has an amazing capacity to read to students and correctly cater his classes to their specific needs. Students who are shy will be challenged yet he will not push them further than they can handle. Students who are vibrant and outgoing will find he can cater effectively to this and develop a friendly relationship easily. Students who struggle with classes will find he uniquely engages and understands their needs, as he went through grade 11 3 times.Ultimately, he is the perfect teacher.
Bit intimidating for the younger students but hes great if you have him in senior!
