Very nice and easy going teacher who taught very well. Language is something that you should actively try to learn rather than have it taught to you and she was good in encouraging students while teaching the requirements of the syllabus. She is of Japanese background and thus have a great knowledge and could answer any question from the students, and is also an amazing extension teacher who allowed her students to achieve great results.
For the person below, the reason why it's harder now is because it is in preparation for you HSC, and being in her Year 11 class I know what you're talking about, but honestly if you don't have the time to dedicate to Japanese you shouldn't be doing it. Miss Arkins is a great teacher, who can speak fluently, and gives the class a variety of things to do to make it fun. And being one of the 'challenged' students in the class, she has helped me when I asked, so if you get her it's great!
Have her for language. In year 9 she was relaxed and pretty nice. But now all she does is pressure us to perform well in our HSC. She doesn't give us any break and that's why a lot of people dropped language. The lessons are not fun anymore and I'm starting to lose interest. She doesn't motivate me to learn anymore and only has faith on the smart people in my class. I used to like her before but not anymore.
Mrs Arkins is my Japanese teacher and she has taught us a lot and given us a fun learning opportunity.
ooohhh miss arkins is a champ! Great teacher, really easy to get along with
