She really inspired me to get involved in other things in the school, like public speaking, that I might not have otherwise and that I LOVE. She has very engaging and funny lessons where you learn tons. Also idk how but she made old white men philosophers interesting
Honestly, I think she is a good literature teacher. However, she doesn't really seem to care about her students, especially in 1/2 and I know so many people are leaving literature because of her. Honestly, I was disappointed by her lack of involvement in our classes. She's busy with her PhD but she shouldn't let that interfere with teaching us.
Ms Purcell is the best teacher I've ever had. She is so wise and kind and prepares you very well for the exam. She is spectacularly eloquent and knowledgeable. Her existence is a blessing to lit students, especially those interested in postcolonial studies. One thing I really love about her is how honest she is -- if an essay is crap she will let you know, but she does it without damaging your ego. I have no idea how but she's just incredible and a superb human being.
Smashing lady. Just listen to her. She's interesting, has a sense of humour and welcomes discussion.
She is an amazing teacher, really kind and caring and comes up with creative ways of attempting an assignment. She gives a lot of homework but we love her anyway.
My favourite teacher so far!
Ms Purcell, You have been and still are like a mother to me. I don't think I could stand doing lit next year if I didn't get you as a teacher... You're so knowledgable about so many things and you're just a fantastic person all round!
Even after leaving high school, I am still incredibly grateful for everything Ms Purcell did for me. Her passion for literature and philosophy is inspiring and she genuinely cares about each and every student. The amount of her own time that she dedicates to her students is astounding. it's impossible not to secretly (or not so secretly) think she's the most amazing person. Ms Purcell definitely helped shape my future, and I know many people who feel the same way.
She is incredibly funny and engaging and definitely knows her stuff. I am convinced I would have failed year 12 english without her!
So knowledgeable and inspiring for lit, very kind and patient too. However, she needs to make people do more work outside of class
She is a wonderful teacher and a lovely person. She genuinely cares about you as both a person and a student and always has high aspirations.
an incredible educator and a generous, kind and caring person.
One of the most inspiring teachers I have ever had the fortune to be taught by. Genuinely cares about her students and goes the extra mile to make sure they do well.
Bessssst teacher in the whole school. You clowns are crazy if you think she's anything less than a 20/20. Get her in year 12 and compare her to the other teachers. Seriously guys.
Best English teacher I've had. She's inspiring and has a real passion for English and Literature.
Literature is amazing with her... she gets straight to the deep and meaningful without wasting time. Sometimes she's a little unclear over what it is we actually have to write though.
Our entire year 12 Philosophy class thought she was a goddess. Her passion for knowledge inspired us all, and made even the most difficult subject matter an exciting challenge.
Really good english teacher! ^^ got to quit tuition because of her... GO MS PURCELL
Even though the classes weren't easy, that why you got so much out of them. You had to work really hard to get a good mark. On the plus side, made everything clear and understandable.Best lit teacher!
