If you are doing well in this class, you must be pretty good at self studying. He just tells us to read the textbook.
Doesn't give specific dates for when work is due, is always falling behind the teaching schedule and 'connects' with his students by telling them to read the textbook. As a primary school teacher, yeah he's fine, but as a VCE Unit 1/2 or 3/4 teacher, well, you better hit the books, literally.
Keith Oatley is a perfectionist and is attentive to detail. This makes him a teacher that is excellent for the stronger students looking to clarify the finer points. If, however, you are a weak student and rely pretty much solely on the teacher for learning even the most primitive concepts and want to waste all of our class time on them, then you will struggle to keep pace and you might find you would be better suited to a state school, rather than Scotch College.
Mr Oatley doesn't cater for many learning methods and lessons are not planned well and are quite boring, combined with his horrible personality. Whilst he can use the textbook, he rarely does so. Doesn't deserve a job at this prestigious school.
Seems to know nothing outside of the course, extremely authoritarian and inflexible, teaches in an very well structured manner but still seems to never get through anything.
I can completely understand his low ratings; but for me, his method of teaching is very effective.
Doesn't explain, just gives answers. very boring, very blunt not friendly
Does not explain anything, just gives you the answers.
most boring teacher in the world, hard to stay focused when hes teaching you
