It's not enough to just have all the knowledge to be a teacher; you have to be able to connect with the students as a person. Mr Conway is the perfect combination of the two. Whilst his quirky personality may occasionally cause him to go off on an irrelevant tangent, it is nothing more than a brief interruption in what is an informative and highly enjoyable class. Nobody is perfect, and in no way does Mr Conway deserve the harsh feedback he receives from some self-entitled, pretentious students.
Mr Conway has some very strange jokes and a strange SOH. Once you get over this you will find he is very good.
Mr Conway is actually such a good teacher, he is really funny and knows how to keep a really hyperactive, unsettled class like ours, entertained and engaged.
He's a great guy, but he cant teach. I feel sorry for you if you end up with him. Try to switch out if you can.
I did worry a bit at the start but I believe he is a great teacher that does care.
Does actually make time for students and drops everything to help when they ask
ditto to the below comment. im still waiting to start yr 12 history. everytime someone asks him to 'teach us more of the course' he totally just ignores what we say. history was my favorite subject last year and now it is probably my least favorite. i just sleep the whole time.
Ok, he'd be great if we actually did something but hell, we're now like 6 weeks into year 12 and I don't think I've actually done a single bit of work. He rarely consistant between the tow classes and I don't think he can differentiate between the two, ending up with one class getting half the information while the other gets the other half, resulting in no one ever completeing assignments. He is consistant in one regard though, he's ridiculously annoying with all those stories and mannerisms.
Yay for mr. Conway & his obsession with bricks! Awesome S & E teacher that must come back next year!
Mr Conway is funny and engages us with his stories that are usually totally unrelated to the topic.
Doesn't look down on students who aren't total nerds.
Has said that he's in a Catch-22 whereby even though he wants to be a politician, that usually involves quitting your normal job, and that can't happen as he'd starve, so in a way he's stuck in his teaching job!! Great bloke.
Hilarious, down-to-earth and to the point, take-no-bull teacher who has a brilliant political mind, as well as a supreme intellect. Is also a fantastic history teacher, and to cap off the all-rounder status, can teach econs!
very knowledgable, however talks too much about his fence.also wears sock with sandals.
A bit of stirrer with Mr O'Brien, but very knowledgeable nonetheless.
i agree that he has a bit of a god-complex, he needs someone higher up the food chain to teach him he is not an indestructible "admin lord."
hates me because I got the honours for history and then dropped it:P Funny guy, spent a little too much time talking about cricket and making bets with students than teaching but overall pretty cool.
is a funny man. a good brain, intelligent. teaching skills, however.... not really.
Incredibly intelligent, zany bloke. Reall Australian, could be a powerfull politician... possibly the best Political brain i have ever seen. Truly wonderfull.
