Legendary teacher who has retired; the sad part was he wasn't going to. The more infuriating part was that the rationale was because he wasn't allowed to teach the G&T Year 8s.. Once again another brilliant teacher falls victim to the G&T program. Mr Brown will be thoroughly missed.
Has more mathematics know-how and teaching ability than the entire mathematics department combined.
Australia's maths and science education has been ranked below countries such as India where 40 per cent of the population can not read or write! (Aus= No.29). All I can say is that if all our teachers were Mr Brown, we'd be 1!
The most coherent and logical mathematics TEACHER in the department, by far.
His integration of technology such as excel spreadsheets for statistics, or QuadExplorers etc..., are fantastic, and HE IS THE BEST TEACHER OF MATHS IN THE SCHOOL; he explains concepts BRILLIANTLY!!!!
is it just me or dose he stare at his screen savers the whole class time... he must really love that windows logo and he dosent need to explain every detail of how to use the computer
Mr Brown's ability to explain the mathematics behind mathematical concepts is unmatched. He is without doubt the best teacher in our deparment- maybe even Western Australia.
Good bloke, a bit unchoherant at times but gennerally very good, our best maths teacher at any rate.
A very warm and happy teacher. I also liked his method of staring lessons with a 'warm-up' pre-exercise on the board relating to the next concept- explained fully and worked out. A fantastic teacher!!
The former UWA Professor is without doubt in the top 3 of mathematics educators in WA. He has unquestionable ability to teach by breaking down mathematics logically and explaining things clearly.
