So in it for us to learn and be the best we can be! Awesome chem teacher
On reflection I'm glad that Geerlo encouraged me to learn and not spoon feed me notes. Thankyou for making me a better learner and realise my potential sir. My HSC result was actually better than my school exams. Not bagging another teacher and their methods of marking but ... interesting. Thanks for your support in my senior years. June and July 2015 comments must have been made by disrespectful students.
On reflection Geerlo was one of the most approachable teachers at the school. His lessons were to the point without the usual wasting of time other employed. Can't believe some of the negative comments from others. I guess you can't please everyone. Keep up the good work.
definitely would not recommend as a chem teacher. struggles to explain the necessary concepts in chemistry, and skips multiple dot points in the syllabus. he does not teach rather he reads from a powerpoint that has been copied and pasted from other resources. he can be particularly harsh to students he doesn't like, and wastes a lot of class time, especially during both senior years.
funny, nice teacher. joked around too much, did not rigorously take class through syllabus for prelim or HSC class, lots of self directed learning using textbook. Poor effort for senior students. Ms Jackson's chem class outranked everyone in my class except for the odd 1 or 2 ppl in my class (who attended outside chem tutoring). do not recommend
Possibly one of the best and most understanding teachers I've ever had. Made school and class so much more enjoyable and kept me from getting in trouble! You go Geerlo!
even though he practically makes a joke out of everything, he doesn't go through dot points, and skims over most of them. only good for practicals, half the time, i'm lost in his lessons as to what dot point we are covering, goes too fast. bias
Obviously a very easy going teacher... helped that he looked like Will Ferrel. He was smarter than most people gave him credit for - Although at times we would deviate from studies, we needed those times because chemistry is a pretty dry subject. A good guy, never let you down.
Better teacher than what most give him credit him for.
funny guy, but wastes time in class a lot, at least it keeps classes interesting
Funny, yet brilliant teaching methods. Analogies are useful in understanding chemistry concepts :)
Funny and interesting to learn from.. went into a Yr7 class and drew on the smartboard..:) Really like this guy.
his cool XD he let us dissect a heart, where as mahfouz was too cheap to do anything >: (
ive only had him once, but he's a legend.. really funny guy..
Nice and approachable but absolutely horrible as a teacher, gets sidetracked and loses track of time. Lack of understanding of chem concepts, such as why h2o shouldn't be added to acids.
Very talkative teacher... exactly what you need in a science teacher as there are concepts that need to be explained. Sometimes goes a little over the top, though.
