It's been years since Mr Pollock taught me, and I still have a loathing of modern history caused by him. He has no patience or sympathy for 'unusual' students, and frequently makes snide, bullying remarks about them to curry favour with other students. He also lectures from notes, and if you have trouble absorbing information that way, then tough luck to you. I am sure he is an ideal teacher for some, but absolutely terrible if you deviate at all from the norm.
Spending each lesson going through comprehension questions before issuing twenty more questions for homework is not my idea of a good teacher. It was a while since he taught me - I hope he has improved in later years. Fortunately, my love of history survived his poor teaching.
Me Pollock was a great teacher-I'm sure he still is. Cheers Mr Pollock, Amanda Bell
The best teacher ever in the history of education.
I think he was a wonderful History teacher. Documentaries and films help me understand history, and he had a lot of those for us to watch. And I thought the comprehension booklets were good as well. He has a good sense of humour, and is often funny without even trying to be.
Mr Pollock was the best History teacher I ever had. He was my teacher for 5 years running and I had the time of my life in his classes. He instilled in me a love of history that I carry to this day.
