Abbotsleigh Anglican School for GirlsEdit
Great school but very strict
It is a very good school
We have been thrilled with this school, challenges everyone to do their best, fantastic dedicated teachers (many with PhDs in their subjects), great library, heaps of opportunities to do STEM subjects, debating, music & creative arts. They look for girls with more than just academic obsession, but keep the top students working at a very high level as well.
It is a wonderful learning space for young women
Cannot fault the school, by year 10 the girls have become respectful and considerate young people. They have enormous pride in the school and I believe they will process wonderful qualities to give them every opportunity to lead fulfilling lives. Abbotsleigh offers dedicated education and great pastoral care.
Very academic school that often uses humiliation as a method to encourage the girls. Ruston in primary school runs the school like a military school with OUTRAGEOUSLY strict rules (ie ear piercings and sick days).Primary students get stratified in Y5 with nearly all students getting coached outside school from kindergarden. School condemns coaching outwardly, but child will not succeed otherwise. Stressful school is an understatement. Primary school coaching = CRAZY COMPETITIVE!!!Not a nice plac
The school was one where the girls were bearable and some of the teachers were either amazing or so bad the tests they set were impossible. I do hope their English department is improved because no student can learn in steaming hot rooms.
Abbotsleigh is an amazing school, with loads of friendly students and staff. It also has a great reputation, and a wide range cocorricular activities.
